Thaxsheni Sivarajah BrodieAssociate

Resolute and assured, Thaxsheni Sivarajah Brodie has exclusively practised criminal law since 2016 and regularly appears in both the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice on a wide range of matters.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto in 2011, she moved to New York City to attend the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, where she received her Juris Doctor in 2016.

During her studies at Hofstra, Thaxsheni was an active member of the Criminal Justice Clinic, where she represented underprivileged individuals in their criminal matters. This inspired her to join Nassau County’s Legal Aid Society, where she spent three years representing indigent individuals in their criminal matters.

While in New York, Thaxsheni conducted jury trials, preliminary hearings and juggled a caseload of more than 150 clients at a time.

In 2020, she was called to the Ontario Bar and joined the Roots of Law team.

Recently, Thaxsheni participated in an application for bail for an individual charged with First Degree Murder, that had favourable results.

She has also obtained third-party records through a Superior Court application and has received several positive outcomes for our clients through her determined advocacy.

As a coffee-addict who is hooked on kickboxing, Thaxsheni is committed to exceeding our clients’ expectations and delivering results.

Thaxsheni is a member of the Criminal Lawyers Association and a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
